MA Workforce Wellbeing Research

We will present key findings from recent MA workforce wellbeing research which provides a clear picture of the sector by identifying:

• The current individual wellbeing of people working in and with museums

• The factors at an individual, organisational and sector level that affect individual wellbeing

• Ideas and priorities for action to positively impact wellbeing

The MA wellbeing campaign acknowledges that to do good work in all areas of museum practice we need a healthy workforce with positive wellbeing. This is even more critical in roles working with communities that have been marginalised or underrepresented, or have experienced trauma.

The findings from this research informs our community and workforce wellbeing campaign, as we know we need to look after ourselves and our colleagues in order to support community wellbeing.

Speakers Bio

Tamsin Russell, Workforce Development Officer, Museums Association

Tamsin is the workforce development officer at the Museums Association. She has previously worked for National Museums Scotland, Historic Scotland and the Science Museum Group.

India Divers, Policy and Campaigns Officer, Museums Association

India is a policy and campaigns officer at the Museums Association. She has previously worked as a policy official in Scottish Government and as a learning officer for the National Trust for Scotland.

Our workforce campaigns focus on inclusive and diverse museums with an emphasis on fair working conditions and workforce wellbeing.
